He gets frustrated and wants to switch to Finale so he goes up to the filter box and picks it and the score set is selected ( it is in the filter drop down but internally in logic it is not selected ), the instrument on the screen is what he believes is correct - however he is not working on the correct combination. If he clicks a region ( or double clicks it if link mode is off) then he will be in the region display level. So what makes this hard is if someone creates a score set of only one instrument and formats it as required. (four levels in all) - not actually display levels though - but hierarchal levels.ģ/ For any score set or any filter selection to be relevant - you must be at the project display level? If you are at the region display level the filter/score set box is not applicable (?) The region level and the project level.Ģ/ When you are at the region level and as you press the up arrow button ( Hierarchy button) - you will move up to the instrument filter, if that instrument is used in a score set, then up through that score set, and finally through to all instruments. I would appreciate if someone would make sure my understanding and the statements below are in fact accurate ( Ski? )ġ/ When you are not using folders - there are only two display levels. SS = "which score set logic is currently using" and DL = "which display level logic is currently using" In the Title in the attachment the terms. When folders are involved it is even harder to explain Another hard concept to explain is that the ( up arrow ) is not the display level, but rather the hierarchy which is combination of score sets/filters used in conjunction with the display level.

The Text in the header of the score will show which Score set being used and the current Display Level as I navigate throughout. The display level must be at the project level or folder level for score sets/filters to work. My fundamental question that I can't explain is: Why - when the display level is at the region level ( lowest level ) isn't the score set filter box disabled? Selecting a filter or score set has no affect on the score. Ski commented about "keeping an eagle eye on which score set you are using" but even this can be misrepresentative and frankly I think this is the hardest concept when learning logic and especially in trying to teach others.
